A panel presentation about applications for new gTLDS at the recent MARQUES Annual Conference included Corsearch’s Steve Stolfi, Vice President of Global Sales & Strategic Partnerships. Stolfi discussed some of the reasons behind the application for .wolterskluwer, completed by Corsearch’s parent company, Wolters Kluwer.
Wolters Kluwer pursued the .wolterskluwer gTLD to secure a further platform for innovation and a mechanism to reinforce the brand with one global internet address. For customers, .wolterskluwer will be a location for authentic information and will support the delivery of the company’s products under the main corporate brand umbrella. According to Stolfi, “When customers find content under the .wolterskluwer gTLD, they will know they have arrived safely at a trusted and authentic destination. In addition, our gTLD will increase the speed our customers get the information that they require on any device, anytime, anywhere.”
In a blog post summarizing the panel discussion, James Nurton of Managing Intellectual Property wrote: “It was good to hear two brand owners actually being enthusiastic about the potential a gTLD offers, the business management benefits it can bring and why they are excited to be pioneers…”
Also participating in the panel discussion were: Minna Santesson, Trademark Director, SCA (applicant for .SCA) and Jon Nevett, Co-Founder, Executive Vice President, Donuts Inc. (applicant for 307 new gTLDs, ranging from .ACADEMY to .ZONE).
